GENERAL SUMMARY
| |
An
experienced people and business manager who provides leadership,
mentorship, value and practice accountability for a
division/competency/country, in the area of the services strategy and
offerings, sales and delivery capability and overall performance and
execution of the business plan. Senior service professional who has
demonstrated an ability to lead based on experience, knowledge, passion
and competence. Works closely with sales and delivery teams to
coordinate and conduct the delivery of high-level complex solutions.
Overall responsibility for the development of service offerings,
strategies, policies, practice standards, and procedures. Drives
utilization, increased revenue and the delivery of billable engagements
for EMC Consulting. Architects industry solutions based on technologies
available to support customer needs. Manages critical metrics for
successful performance including revenue, bookings and utilization
targets. Has responsibility for development of new services and
solutions, internal and external thought leadership, and knowledge
management. Maintains pipeline of talent and is responsible for
recruiting and developing a team for a division/competency/country who
can help grow and drive EMC's business strategy. Guides practice team to
effectively deliver EMC solutions and provide continual practice
growth. Monitors practice job performance and provides coaching,
counseling, and motivation to maximize practice performance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Understands that travel may be required for extended periods of time.

· Has
overall practice accountability for a division/competency/country.
Drives and articulates solutions based on customer's strategic business
or technical requirements ascertained from working with multiple
business units across customer's organization. Ensures appropriate
levels of specialization in the practice are being achieved via OTJ and
formal training and other development opportunities. Manages practice
training participation while ensuring practice maintains high
utilization rates. Provides leadership in development of long term
practice curriculum, for both technical and management skills. Monitors
skillsets required and takes action to remedy skillset shortfalls within
practice

· Maintains
level of practice readiness to support delivery of customer engagements
(resource development, partner relations, tested and proven technical
solutions, quality assurance). Oversees resourcing function for all
employees within practice function. Ensures adequate level of resources
in place to meet practice profitability targets

· Responsible
for maximizing utilization of entire team and chargeability of all
delivery resources within practice/geography. Resolves resource
deployment issues. Builds and maintains relationships with various EMC
organizations to facilitate influence and issue resolution. Leverages
EMC talent in the sale and delivery of quality solutions and
implementation. Identifies add-on or cross-sell opportunities on
existing projects and leads proposal development in collaboration with
sales, pre-sales and senior management to close opportunities. May
review and approve legally binding contracts with partners and
customers. Integrates industry or service line knowledge into practical
sales-related tactics, techniques and procedures to ensure
well-developed campaigns and proposals. Provides technical input to
enable product improvements and enhancements. Works to design, develop
and bring to market value-added offerings which will drive additional
opportunities Ensure the field understands, applies and executes upon
the offerings

· Provides
technical and/or business consultative leadership for specific practice
at pre- and post-sales phases. Builds and maintains relationships with
Sales, Customer Service, and Customers to influence and resolve issues.
Proactively provides input into development of practice policies,
procedures, standards and strategies with local and corporate teams. May
provide weekly revenue and utilization forecasts to Director-level
management. May oversee and manage local Aged Receivables to ensure
timely payments from client to EMC. Identifies, recruits and hires
employees who will help grow and drive business strategies Business
Management. Monitors practice job performance and provides coaching,
counseling and motivation to maximize practice performance.

· Maintains
team environment for division/competency/country to encourage team
meetings and knowledge sharing. Proactively provides platform for
thought leadership for the team (i.e. white papers, new solution
offerings, industry publications, conference presentations. Provides
oversight for adherence to Consulting knowledge management policies at
completion of every project/proposal. Proactively ranks and evaluates
staff to ensure level of consultants hired and retained are achieving
goals and representing business appropriately. Proactively manages the
resources on the bench to insure that they are assisting with
proposals/internal tasks while meeting financial goals
