Senior Communication Services Engineer

Come join the "Corporate Communications Services" team as a "Sr Communication Services Engineer".

Responsibilities
* Ability to quickly identify cause of technical problems and provide resolution.
* Must have the ability to provide technical support over the phone; professional phone skills and demeanor required.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to follow procedures and documentation in problem resolution.
* Develop clear and concise documentation for end users and support teams
* Provide off-hours support and on-call duties as required
* Some travel may be required.
* Demonstrates ability to grasp and use new technology concepts.
* Friendly presence and helpful attitude; good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
* Must be familiar with and comply with laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures that are applicable to required job duties.
* Ability to work in a geographically dispersed team environment


Qualifications

Essential:
* Understanding of SIP, H.323, H.264 protocols as well as familiarity with QOS principles.
* Experience with Avaya Media Servers and Media Gateways (G350, G450, G650)
* Experience with Avaya Communication Manager 5.2 or later
* Experience with Avaya Call Center Elite ACD, skills, vectors, VDNs, variables, subroutines
* Experience with Avaya Call Management System (CMS) and CMS Supervisor
* Experience with Avaya Aura Messaging
* Experience with Cisco Unified Communications
* Excellent troubleshooting skills for voice and video
* Experience in supporting multivendor video conferencing technology (Cisco and Polycom preferred)
* Experience troubleshooting voice quality related issues utilizing system tools as well as external tools.
* Familiarity with AT&T Advance Toll Free Routings services including RouteIt
* Familiarity with AT&T Dedicated Toll Services
* Familiarity with Avaya Session Manager and SIP endpoints
* Intermediate understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and VPN.
* Intermediate knowledge of Windows Network Operating Systems ( XP, Vista, W7).
* Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (2007/2010).
* General knowledge of Computer hardware, software and peripherals.
* General knowledge of techniques for explaining technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users.
* Maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as necessary.
* Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standards may exist and critical thinking is needed for effective resolutions.

Desirable: (Optional)
* Advanced knowledge of data networking principles is a plus
* Experience with ACME Packet Session Border Controllers
* Experience with Carrier SIP Trunking

Qualifications:
Essential:
* BS in computer science, information technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above
* 7+ years experience in deploying and supporting voice and video infrastructures
