Description
As a Project Manager at
Caterpillar Marine Asia Pacific, you will have responsibilty to manage
marine and petroleum medium speed engine projects from order entry
through installation, commissioning and delivery to the customer. You
will be responsible for the the successful technical and commercial
execution and timely completion of these projects.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Apply previous experience and knowledge to successfully manage projects to improve ensure customer satisfaction, technical integrity of installations, timely completion of projects, and to achieve or improve targeted profitability.
*Liaise among dealers, customers and other Caterpillar personnel.
* Be very familiar with the company’s processes, systems and methodologies to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
* Contribute to the identification, analysis and resolution of issues that impact the project completion and profitability.

analysis work, identify and resolve problems to avoid project delays,
installation deficienies, or increased costs.
* Develop and meet
expectations; deliver results, consider and recommend alternative
courses of actions, make timely decisions and demonstrate strong
communication skills.
* Work directly with other Caterpillar units, customers (owners, shipyards, and designers), and suppliers.
* Understand and communicate technical requirements for Marine Diesel Engines, Marine Mechanical Propulsion systems, and Marine Electric Drive Propulsion Systems

* Assist and support Sale personnel with technical specification interpretation, product sulutions and proposal development.
* Demonstrate
understanding of commercial contract managment, to identify, communicate
and negotiate changes to commercial contracts for assigned projects.
*Work with
commissioning technicans and engineers to manage installation inspection
and commissioning to delivery project, on time and on budget.
* Identify and communicate process improvement methods and assisting with process evaluation.
* Continue to develop required proficiency level in the specified foundation competencies and skills.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* A college or university degree or equivalent experience.
* 3 - 5 years prior experience managing projects or sales support in the Marine or Oil and Gas industry
*
Demonstrated ability to work independently and to communicate
effectively with others in the work group, dealer personnel and
customers.
* Demonstrated the ability to work on increasingly more complex assignments and provide direction to lower level reps on project assignments.
Desired Qualifications:
* Medium Speed Diesel engine experinece

* Application, Installation, Marine Operations Experience preferred.
* Experience in Shipyard Estimating or Operations.
* Experience with Diesel Electric Propulsion Systems.
