Mgr SW QA Engineering

Job Location: Shanghai, China

Directs the activities of a software quality assurance function. Develops, communicates and implements the strategic direction of the operation. Ensures that system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved. Develops quality standards for company products and oversees the development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test results. Provides guidance in the preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages and systems, computational software, and related technology. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Works with all parties to develop the system and application requirements. After testing provides feedback to developers on potential changes. Regularly leads important regional initiatives. Has ultimate accountability for the sub-function and provides the highest level of advice and recommendations to maximize the outcomes of testing investments.

• Plans and estimates QA test team activities, manage test preparation and test execution tasks, ensuring they are completed on time



• Where required, may take up the QA role in a PMT team or other functional meetings (PMT, BMT, CTL). Reviews PMT reports, votes on team activities and contributes to PMT conference calls. Supplies weekly progress reports and statistics to the PMT and wider project team. Responsible for the preparation and execution of a unique QA test plan for each software project undertaken.



• Responsible for QA staff recruitment, mentoring, training and career development, conducting staff performance reviews, MBO goal-setting and career development activities.



• Liaises and collaborates with the quality teams of other product areas within EMC.



• Responsible for QA test tool procurement, development and configuration activities.



• Where required, is responsible to senior EMC management for the maintenance and execution of the organisation's quality management system, including the local quality manual. Liaises internally and externally to ensure that the required quality activities take place, and that the organisation successfully passes its regular internal and external ISO accreditation audits.
