Description
As a Buyer, you have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to drive:

In this role, you will provide purchasing solutions expertise using
Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) to deliver
maximum value in developing, communicating, and/or implementing site,
regional, or worldwide sourcing strategies for multiple Caterpillar
business units.
For multiple sites with a typical spend generally between
$50M-$125M, you will perform complex processes in critical and strategic
markets. Through these processes, you will be responsible for:
- Managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special purchasing programs;
- Supporting specific Product line(s) New Product Introduction (NPI) programs; and
- The liaison with the corresponding Category/Platform based Buyers.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree from a college or university – or equivalent experience;
- A minimum of four years of progressively responsible job-related experience;
- Advanced negotiation skills;
- Experience leading projects as well as leading teams, suppliers, & customers to effective solutions;
- Willingness to travel up to 50-75% of work time as needed; and
- Fluency (able to read, write, understand, speak, and teach) in English.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experiene in purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, and/or engineering; and
- Professional certification in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management, e.g.; Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), and/or Certified in Integration Resource Management (CIRM), or comparable international certification.
- An Understanding of QCLDM, Lean Manufacturing, and 6 Sigma principles.

analytical problem solving and project leadership.
